Where Does One Work?

Can a location have a productivity score? If so, what are we measuring? Are we measuring short term productivity or long term productivity? Are we measuring factors like joy, comfort, health or is it pure output?

A Location For Every Task

I've worked in the company office, coworking spaces like CoHatch, Thrive, BridgePark's Brick House Blue, coffee shops, the kitchen, the garage and my bedroom. My conclusion? Pros & Cons.

There's no ideal location for everything but there is an ideal location for taking virtual calls. There's an ideal location for brainstorming. There's an ideal location for pushing through the finish line. In short, there's an ideal location for specific activities. That's why it's important to first be present enough to understand which location is the most optimal. This art of location theory goes hand in hand with the art of focus. Both require being present which is why being present is the foundation to any novel work.
